First Board of Directors Meeting Held
Newsletter: Volume1, Issue 1 - April 2004
Forest Partners International was founded in November 2003, being
incorporated in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with the vision
of promoting conservation of biodiversity through long-term partnerships
with governments, organizations, communities and individuals that
also build on human capacity through a multidisciplinary approach
that works for forests, wildlife and people.
In January 2004, Forest Partners International had its first
Board of Directors meeting. At that meeting, founding members
(Reg Hoyt, President/CEO Flourtown, PA, Richard Nisbett, Vice
President-Riverside, CA and Jill Frayne, Secretary/Treasurer-Linville,
NC) laid the groundwork for the growth and develoment of this
new organization.
Three new members were added to the Board of Directors at that
meeting: Alexander Peal-Monrovia, Liberia: Henk Dop-Amsterdam,
The Netherlands; and Edward Gibbons, Jr., Ph.D.-Patchogue, NY.
It is through the commitment ang guidance of the board that FPI
exists, and with their continued support it is certain to thrive.
We thank them for all they bring to FPI.
