About Forest Partners International

 

Mission: To promote sustainable natural resource management practices globally in regions of high biodiversity through partnerships that address biodiversity and human needs.

 

Vision: Forest Partners' vision is to promote conservation of biodiversity through long-term partnerships with other organizations, communities, and individuals that also build human capacity.

 

Core Beliefs:

  • The future of rural people and the environments in which they live are inextricably connected
  • The conservation of globally important centers of biodiversity will require the support of local communities and peoples through innovative partnerships that benefit both the community and conservation
  • Effective conservation action requires the support of accurate and appropriate data
  • Communities, as well as governments, can positively promote conservation
  • Improved education and health care are necessary steps in combating rural poverty
  • Community partnerships with conservation organizations to plan, develop and implement conservation programs can have effective and long-lasting impacts
